Bar’s Pro Bono Program for the Elderly Provides Valuable Pro Bono Legal Assistance
Attorney Chad E. Nelson, from the Law Offices of Howe & Garside in Newport, and a member of the Bar’s Pro Bono Program for the Elderly, provided valuable pro bono legal assistance to residents of the Bristol Veterans Home during Older Americans Month. For his service, Chad was thanked, on behalf of Commander General Rick Baccus, Adjutant Ginny Hanson and all the members of Lawson-Raiola Chapter 15, for sharing his Medicaid expertise with the veterans. As noted in the letter of thanks for Chad’s presentation, “It was simply great and was very informative. It was extremely interesting and beneficial and our group was thankful. It was a critical topic and was well received by our members. Our organization would also like to commend the exemplary legal assistance service, namely, “Ask a Lawyer Program”, that assists Rhode Islanders and other interested parties.”
